Here’s what others have asked!
I have never taken flute lessons. What happens during a typical flute lesson?
At your introductory lesson, we will discuss your history with the flute (how long you have played, what pieces you have performed, etc.) and determine a weekly lesson time that works for both of us after making sure we will work well together! During each flute lesson, I will assign specific exercises, etudes, and pieces for you to prepare for the following week. My goal is to teach you something new every week! Some lessons may involve playing duets with me or working on your sight-reading skills, while other weeks involve more traditional 1-on-1 instruction. I strive to create an engaging, fun, and productive time! All I ask is that you bring an open mind and willingness to learn!
I'm not sure that I can afford tuition rates. Do you offer discounted rates?
Lessons are an investment, just like any other product or service. However, I do work with individuals/families on a limited, case-by-case basis when there is a demonstrated need for financial assistance for lessons. Please contact me directly for more information.
I'm a little on the fence about taking lessons. What if I don't have time for this on top of everything else?
I have found that private music lessons can lead to efficient time management skills applicable to other areas of life. In fact, playing flute can relieve stress when you have a hectic schedule and gives you freedom to create something beautiful and unique to you.
